Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains which data is processed when this language-learning app is used. The app works without a user account and without a backend operated by Lormalibu Labs. It does not automatically transmit learning progress to Lormalibu Labs.

2. Processing within the app
The app stores information required for its functions locally on the device being used. This includes in particular:
- the selected interface language
- lesson and chapter-test progress
- attempts, results, best scores and completion times
- learning content marked as uncertain
- review and spaced-repetition data such as stage, due date, latest rating and review time
- Reading Room progress, comprehension results, assistance used, and opening and notification states
- entitlement status (whether the one-time purchase unlocking full access has been completed)
- technical compatibility data required for existing progress records
This data is processed using the app's local storage. Lormalibu Labs does not receive regular access to this local data.
The local processing is used to provide the learning, review and progress functions explicitly requested by the user. Where the General Data Protection Regulation applies, processing for provision of the app functions is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Storage in the user's terminal equipment is strictly necessary to provide the digital service expressly requested by the user under section 25(2)(2) TDDDG.
3. Automatic connections and local learning data
The published app currently uses:
- no user account
- no proprietary backend
- no analytics
- no crash reporting
- no advertising
- no push notifications
- no location, contacts, camera or microphone collection
- no cloud synchronisation by Lormalibu Labs
During normal learning activity, the app does not transmit names, email addresses, device identifiers, diagnostic information or learning progress to Lormalibu Labs.
Compatible release builds may contact Expo’s EAS Update service when the app starts to check for updates. Expo may process technically necessary connection data such as IP address and device operating system, as well as randomized update tokens used by the service. Local learning progress is not transmitted to Expo. This connection supports secure and current delivery of the app. Further information is available in Expo’s Privacy Policy:
4. Android system backup
Depending on the device, Android version, account settings and backup service, the operating system may include local app data in a system backup or device-to-device transfer.
This backup is controlled by the operating system or selected backup provider. Lormalibu Labs cannot access the backup and cannot guarantee its availability, retention period or successful restoration.
The backup may be managed or deleted through Android or Google account settings. Learning progress may be unavailable after uninstalling the app or changing devices if no usable system backup exists.
5. Contact by email
If a person contacts support by email, the data they voluntarily transmit will be processed. This may include their email address, name, message content, attachments and technical information.
The data is processed to handle and answer the request. Where the request concerns a contract or pre-contractual measures, processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Otherwise, it is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is handling enquiries and supporting users.
A Google service is used for email communication. Google may process data as the email service provider under its own terms. Further information is available in Google's Privacy Policy:
Support messages are stored only for as long as necessary to handle the request and possible follow-up questions. They are retained for longer only where required by law or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
6. External actions and links
The app opens an email client or external website only after an explicit action by the user. From that point, the privacy terms of the relevant email, browser or destination provider also apply.
Opening the public Legal and Support pages transmits technically necessary connection data to the hosting provider Cloudflare. Learning progress and local app data are not transmitted to Lormalibu Labs in this process.
7. Recipients
Lormalibu Labs does not sell user data and does not disclose local learning progress to third parties.
When a user voluntarily contacts support, data may be processed by the email provider. Data is otherwise disclosed only where required by law or where necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
8. Retention and deletion of local data
Local app data generally remains on the device until it is removed through a provided deletion function, by clearing the app's data in Android settings, or by uninstalling the app.
System backups are managed by the operating system or backup provider. Lormalibu Labs cannot inspect or directly delete existing system backups.
Local learning data can be removed at any time via Profile → Legal & Support → Delete local learning data. Your language choice is kept.
9. Data subject rights
Where Lormalibu Labs processes personal data, applicable statutory conditions provide rights including:
- access
- rectification
- erasure
- restriction of processing
- data portability
- objection to processing based on legitimate interests
Locally stored learning progress is not accessible to Lormalibu Labs and therefore cannot be viewed, corrected or erased remotely. It can be removed on the relevant device.

10. Right to lodge a complaint
Users have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority.

11. Users aged 13 and over
The app is intended for teenagers aged 13 and over and adults. It does not require a user account and does not transmit personal data to Lormalibu Labs during normal use.
If minors or their legal guardians contact support, only the information voluntarily provided is processed in order to handle the request.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This policy will be updated if functions, data processing, legal requirements or services used by the app change. Purchases and the unlocking of full access are described in Section 14.
13. Hosting of the public legal and support pages
The public Lexinara pages for the Imprint, Privacy Policy, Support and Licences are provided under lormalibulabs.com using Cloudflare Pages. This Lexinara Privacy Policy also covers visits to these product pages; the general privacy notice for the umbrella website is separate.
When a page is accessed, Cloudflare processes technically necessary connection and traffic data. This may include IP addresses, traffic-routing information and technical information relating to communication with the website. Processing serves the secure and reliable delivery of the pages and is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The static pages contain no analytics or advertising trackers added by Lormalibu Labs, and Lormalibu Labs sets no first-party cookies there. Technically necessary processing by Cloudflare depends on the actual delivery and security configuration.
Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the United States. Processing outside the European Economic Area is possible. Cloudflare describes safeguards for international transfers in its privacy information and Data Processing Addendum. Further information is available in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy:
The app itself does not automatically load these web pages. A connection is only made when a user deliberately opens a link. Learning progress, chapter-test and review data, and Reading Room data are not transmitted to Cloudflare or Lormalibu Labs in this process.
14. Purchases and unlocking full access
Full access to the complete course can be unlocked through a single one-time in-app purchase. The purchase itself is processed entirely by Google Play.
Payment data such as card or account details is processed exclusively by Google. Lormalibu Labs does not receive access to this payment data and does not store it.
The app stores locally on the device only whether the purchase has been completed (entitlement status). This status is tied to the Google account signed in on the device, not to an account with Lormalibu Labs.
The "Restore purchase" function asks Google Play whether a valid purchase already exists for the signed-in Google account, and unlocks full access again if needed.
Refunds are handled exclusively through Google Play under Google’s refund policy. Lormalibu Labs cannot issue refunds itself and does not retain any transaction or payment records.
The purchase is processed through Google Play. If purchase approval is enabled for the Google Account in use, it is handled through Google Play’s family and payment management (for example, Google Family Link). Lormalibu Labs does not manage this purchase approval and receives from Google Play only the purchase status required to unlock the content.
